Nordic Walking is a very accessible activity and something that can be shared by people of different fitness levels. It’s an ideal activity for people who haven’t exercised for a while and equally suitable for those who wish to add something extra to their current fitness regime.
If you’d like to shed a few pounds or simply want to try something new, then Nordic Walking is for you. Whatever your age, you’ll enjoy discovering the benefits of Nordic Walking.
Wear something that is comfortable and easy to walk in. Ideally casual walking trousers (not jeans), a t-shirt and a fleece or jumper that you can easily remove when you have warmed up. A lightweight rain jacket is useful if the weather is not looking too good. Wear shoes with a flexible sole, such as trainers or flexible walking shoes.
For longer walks, a small rucksack or waist-bag is good for carrying an extra layer of clothing or waterproof, a bottle of water and that all important snack.
If you have Nordic Walking poles, then please do bring them along to the walks. If you don't have poles, then absolutley no problem at all as we will have a set for you to borrow. We can also advise on what poles to purchase should you choose to buy your own.
Before joining one of our walks, we ask that you complete a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PARQ) and return it before the day of the walk.
